Pre-Apprentices

Job Description: 

Those applying to become a Pre-Apprentice must meet the qualifications required to become a registered apprentice, which are, as per the BC Provincial Standards.

After 1600 hours of employment the Pre-apprentice is either released from employment or encouraged to continue in the trade as a First Year Apprentice.

  • Wage Package
  • 40% of Journeyperson’s rate
  • 8% Vacation and STAT Holiday pay
  • BC Medical – first 800 hours.
  • Local 280 Health Benefit Plan – 801-1,600 hours
