Viaduct Sheet Metal President Appointed to SMACNA National Board of Directors

The Sheet Metal and Air Conditioning Contractors' National Association (SMACNA) elected five members to its Board of Directors at their annual business meeting on October 13, 2010 at SMACNA’s 67th annual convention in Phoenix, Arizona. Among the new directors is President of Viaduct Sheet Metal Ltd., Mark A. Halvorson, who began his four-year term on Oct. 14.

“Over the past 22 years, our company’s business model has evolved through implementing what we have learned from SMACNA’s strong business programs and seminars,” says Halvorsen. “I have been significantly involved with SMACNA National for years and look forward to the interaction with SMACNA National, its officers, and its staff.”

Halvorsen has served as president, vice president, president-elect, secretary, treasurer, and on the Board of Directors of the British Columbia Sheet Metal Association. He has also served on the Negotiating Committee and as the Chapter Councilor representing the chapter on SMACNA’s Council of Chapter Representatives.

He has also served as a director of the Sheet Metal Industry Training Board and on the Construction Labour Relations Association’s Negotiation Committee. Halvorsen was a member of the Advisory Council with Simon Fraser University and graduated from the British Columbia Institute of Technology with a degree in mechanical services.
